Predicting the DGA is no longer as simple as picking the directors of the five Best Picture nominees. One now has to speculate what would be the five Best Picture nominees if we had a field of five; not as easy to do, but I'll give it a shot:
Darren Aronofsky, Black Swan
Joel & Ethan Coen, True Grit
David Fincher, The Social Network
Tom Hooper, The King's Speech
David O'Russell, The Fighter
Just on the outside looking is Christopher Nolan, and to a lesser extent,
Lisa Cholodenko. We'll find out tomorrow.
