Argo wins top prize at BAFTAs

A separate piece with my commentary on today's winners will come later tonight. For now, all the winners:

Best British Film: Skyfall
Best Short Animation: The Making of Longbird
Best Short Film: Swimmer
Best Costume Design: Anna Karenina
Best Makeup and Hair: Les Miserables
Best Animated Film: Brave
Best Sound: Les Miserables
Best Editing: Argo
Best Cinematography: Life of Pi

Man, these craft winners are falling pretty much right in line with what most are expecting at the Oscars.

Best Score: Skyfall Well, except for that.
Best Original Screenplay: Django Unchained The eventual Oscar winner, maybe?
Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz, Django Unchained Still doesn't clear up the Oscar race.
Best Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer: Bart Layton (writer) and Dimitri Doganis (producer), The Imposter
Best Visual Effects: Life of Pi
Best Supporting Actress: Anne Hathaway, Les Miserables
Best Adapted Screenplay: Silver Linings Playbook Biggest surprise so far. It's Oscar chances are real.
Best Foreign Language Film: Amour
Rising Star: Juno Temple
Best Documentary: Searching for Sugar Man
Best Production Design: Les Miserables Hmm...
Best Director: Ben Affleck, Argo
Best Actress: Emmaneulle Riva!!!, Amour Watch out for her on Oscar night. JLaw feels precarious.
Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis, Lincoln
Best Film: Argo
